Originally I'm from Hasting's in Sussex, I stayed with a friend for a year near my current house in 2001 to complete my studies in central London because Abbey Wood station was only a few minutes’ walk and the journey into the city was so quick.
Within that year I fell in love with this Edwardian estate and it streets lined with cherry trees and never went back to Hastings; a decision never regretted!
I chose this particular house because it had a warm feel to it and I liked the large sunny rooms and the view of the street and privacy due to its slight elevation. I also liked the good sized garden that had sun in it all day long. The fact that it only took me 7 minutes to walk to the station and had a night bus stop at the top of the street definitely influenced my decision at that time.
I have loved every minutes of my time living here. Its so quiet and I have always felt safe living here. Parking is never an issue either due to the cheap parking permit. I have super neighbours and the whole street looks out for one another and are so friendly. My hairdressers is literally at the bottom of the street and my local café is Abbey Café just around the corner and there is a handy row of shops nearby too. Public transport generally is excellent here and there are so many shops and other facilities within easy reach. There are also lots of green spaces to include the old Abbey a few minutes’ walk away.
I am going to miss it terribly when I move but I have to consider my elderly mother, so the time has come for me to move on. I'm certain the next owners will love it here as much as I have.
